Optional side games, CTP prizes, and the money ledger.
Side Game Types
Side games run alongside the main match format. They're optional — enable whichever ones your league wants. All side games are configured per season.
Closest to the Pin (CTP)
How it worksOne designated par-3 each week. The player whose tee shot lands closest to the pin wins the pot. Measured in feet and inches.ConfigurationSet the prize amount per week and optionally enable hole rotation so a different par-3 is used each week. Net Nassau
How it worksThree separate bets using net scores: front nine, back nine, and overall 18. Each segment has its own buy-in and payout. Players compete head-to-head within their match pairing.Best forLeagues that love the classic Nassau format with handicap leveling. Net Par-3
How it worksA pot is split among all players who make net par or better on designated par-3 holes. If nobody makes net par, the pot carries over to the next week.Best forKeeping par-3 holes interesting all season long. Stableford Points
How it worksA standalone Stableford points competition separate from the main match format. Standard Stableford scoring: 0 for double bogey+, 1 for bogey, 2 for par, 3 for birdie, 4 for eagle, 5 for albatross. Highest total wins.Best forAdding a points-based side game to a match play league. Quota Game
How it worksEach player gets a quota target based on their handicap (36 minus index). Points earned Stableford-style. The player who exceeds their quota by the most wins.Best forMixed-handicap groups where everyone competes against their own target. Blind Partners
How it worksPartners are drawn randomly after the round. The two-player team with the lowest combined net score wins. Nobody knows their partner until scores are in.Best forAdding a surprise element — strategy doesn't matter, just play your best. Mystery Holes
How it worksA set of holes (typically 6 or 9) is selected randomly after the round. Only scores from those mystery holes count. Lowest net total on the mystery holes wins.Best forRewarding consistent play across the whole round — every hole could be the one that counts. Money Ledger
The money ledger tracks every financial transaction in the league. Managers use it to record buy-ins, payouts, and adjustments.
Buy-Ins
Record each player's weekly buy-in for side games. The ledger shows running totals per player so you always know who owes what.
Payouts
When a player wins a side game or CTP, record the payout. The ledger calculates net position (total paid in minus total won) for each player.
Adjustments
Use adjustments for one-off corrections — refunds, carry-overs, or end-of-season settlements. Each adjustment includes a note explaining the reason.
NoteThe money ledger is for tracking only — tplgolf does not process actual payments. Use the ledger to keep an accurate record, then settle up through Venmo, cash, or however your league handles money.
CTP Configuration
To set up Closest to the Pin for your season:
- Enable CTP in the season settings
- Set the prize amount per week (e.g., $5 per player into the pot)
- Choose fixed hole or rotating hole mode
- For rotating mode, the system automatically selects a different par-3 each week
- CTP results are entered alongside regular scores on match day
