Digital Scorecards

Replace paper scorecards with digital scoring — QR access, real-time entry, attestation, and chat.

Scorecard Types

Every round played at your course can use a RoundScorecard. The scorecard type determines how it's created and where it shows up:

CASUAL
A standalone round — not tied to a league or event. Players create casual scorecards from the app to track their everyday rounds at your course.
LEAGUE
Created automatically for league matches. Scoring rules and formats are inherited from the league configuration.
OUTING
Created for outing and event participants. Linked to the outing format and group pairings.
TOURNAMENT
For multi-round competitive events with cuts, flights, and formal tournament structure.

Scorecard States

Scorecards progress through a clear lifecycle:

NOT_STARTED
The scorecard has been created but no scores have been entered. This is the initial state when a tee time or event group is set up.
IN_PROGRESS
Scoring has begun. At least one hole has a score entered. The scorecard stays in this state until the round is complete.
COMPLETED
All 9 or 18 holes have scores entered. The scorecard is ready for review and attestation.
ATTESTED
The scorecard has been signed off by the player (and optionally a playing partner). Attested scorecards are locked — scores can no longer be edited without manager override.

QR Code Access

Every scorecard generates a unique QR code. Print QR codes on cart signs, tee markers, or handout sheets. Players scan with their phone to open the scorecard instantly — no app download or login required for basic score entry.

Tip
Print QR codes for each group's scorecard and place them on the cart dashboard. Players scan once at the first tee and have the scorecard open for the entire round.

Access Codes

In addition to QR codes, each scorecard has a short alphanumeric access code. Players can enter the code on the scorecards page if they can't scan a QR. Access codes are useful for phone-based entry when cameras aren't cooperating or for sharing via text message.

Attestation Workflow

Step 1Complete the Round

Players enter scores hole by hole during the round. Once all holes are entered, the scorecard moves to COMPLETED status.

Step 2Review Scores

The player reviews their scorecard — totals, handicap adjustments, and individual hole scores. This is the last chance to correct any entry errors.

Step 3Attest

The player signs off on the scorecard. For league and tournament rounds, a playing partner may also need to attest. Once attested, the scorecard is locked and the scores become official.

Warning
Attested scorecards are locked. Only a manager can unlock an attested scorecard for corrections. This prevents score tampering and ensures the integrity of league and tournament results.

Scorecard Chat

Each scorecard includes a group chat scoped to the players in that round. Use it for pace-of-play updates, friendly banter, or coordination. Messages are visible only to the group — not to other groups or the broader league.

Check-In Integration

When check-in is enabled on your tee sheet, the check-in process can automatically create or link a scorecard for the group. Players check in at the pro shop, the tee time status updates, and a scorecard is ready to go before they reach the first tee. This eliminates the friction of manually starting a scorecard on the course.
